Check out the Oxford Owl, a free reading website to use in your classroom.

Once signed in you have access to over 250 eBooks online. Each book has an audio option, so students can listen in addition to reading the story. Some books have interactive reading activities students can play to help with sequencing and comprehension of the story. Others have expansion lessons to do before, during or after reading.

Along with the books, Oxford Owl’s website is full of support documents such as best practices, lesson plans, professional development, and school improvement pathways. These documents cover a variety of topics including, problem solving in math, engaging parents, and phonics. You can use the activities and books with students individually or as whole class on an interactive SMART Board.
