The Kentucky Society for Education in Kentucky (KySTE) is hosting their premier education technology conference, bringing together educators, administrators, technology professionals, and more. Each year, the conference holds over 1,600 attendees from all over the country to discuss the latest and greatest in education and promote the use of technology in Kentucky schools. Those who attend will think, learn, and listen to new and improved ways to integrate technology into education through various sessions, exhibitions, and summits.

Conference details

Teq is excited to be attending this year’s KySTE Spring Conference, taking place from March 15-17, 2023, at the Galt House in Louisville, KY. We are also proud to be featured exhibitors, as we will be located at booth #704/706 to present all our wonderful assets, such as: edtech solutions, iBlocks project-based learning experiences, and online professional development platform, OTIS for educators. Must-see session from Teq

In addition to our exhibition space, we are proud to present a special session from our Director of eLearning, Matthew Thaxter, on integrating coding concepts into the classroom. All session info can be found on the KySTE Spring Conference landing page, under the Session Matrix tab.

Teaching Coding without the Code: A CS Primer

Matthew Thatxter, Director of eLearning

Thursday, March 16, 2023 | 10:30am EDT

Suite Tower, Third Floor – Beckham Room

Students, as young as 1st grade can be introduced to coding concepts way before they ever maneuver their first block of code. In the session, we will show you how to teach coding concepts without the actual code! We will be demonstrating different techniques to get students to think like programmers so they can understand the functions behind writing code. With these basic techniques, students should be able to dive into actual coding with more confidence and better understanding of what code should do.
