News
This June, Teq traveled to San Antonio for ISTE—the largest educational technology conference of the year.

On June 25th to June 28th, Teq headed to San Antonio, Texas for ISTE 2017 — the largest worldwide edtech conference of the year. This year, ISTE broke record numbers with an estimated 15,000 attendees, which consisted of teachers, administrators, technology directors, curriculum coordinators, and students from around the globe. The conference took place at the Henry B. Gonzalez convention center and welcomed attendees from all 50 states and 72 countries.
Spotlight on PD and CloudGenix
Throughout the conference, Teq held 5 professional development sessions at the booth which focused on the SMART Learning Suite, and CloudGenix—an SD-WAN that leverages network performance monitoring tools to solve problems that negatively impact network performance.
Majority of the sessions were delivered by Teq Curriculum Specialist and Google Trainor, Jessica Wenke, and took participants through the many features of the SMART Learning Suite. Throughout her sessions, Jessica allowed participants to have hands-on experience with the lessons, which were built using SMART Notebook, SMART amp, and SMART Lab, and were delivered on the SMART 6265 Interactive Flat Panel.

“Amp”ing Up the Crowd
Sessions were also held at the SMART Technologies booth and were hosted by Teq’s Director of eLearning, Joseph Sanfilippo. Both of Joseph’s sessions drew crowds of over-30 attendees and focused on the integration of technology in the classroom. The sessions featured SMART amp, the cloud-based collaborative workspace that provides a nearly infinite workspace for students.

Inspiring Greatness
Also at the SMART Technologies booth was Jocelyn—one of SMART and Teq’s favorite student success stories. This past year, Jocelyn (featured in SMART’s latest video) discovered her own inner greatness during a class project where her class was instructed to collaborate, using SMART amp, and research alternative sources of energy.
Throughout the project, Jocelyn learned that she and her peers could “change the world” when they work together.
