If you’re like most of us, you have dozens of username and password post-its for one too many accounts. You’re likely using multiple applications for classroom instruction, on top of your school’s student information systems (SIS), PD, or HR management platforms. It gets complicated.
To simplify your log-in struggles, Teq Online PD now offers options for Single Sign-On (SSO) and automatic rostering. Wait, what is that? If you’ve ever logged on to your Candy Crush account using your Facebook credentials, you already understand how SSO works. Teachers can access Teq Online PD™ using their Google, ClassLink, or Clever log-in credentials; while administrators don’t have to worry about maintaining multiple rosters. Everybody wins.
Why Single Sign-On and Automatic Rostering?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is particularly valuable for school districts with multiple educational applications. Services like Google, Clever and ClassLink allow teachers and students to use a single set of login credentials to access various applications, simplify the log-in process- and most importantly- save time.
For school administrators, Clever and ClassLink facilitates system maintenance, and even automatically syncs teacher log-in credentials across all applications when there’s an update in a school’s information system.
How Does Clever Work?
If your school is using Clever, you can sign into Teq Online PD™ with your Clever credentials using “Clever SSO.” Your school accounts will need to be set up within Teq Online PD for your Clever credentials to allow access to Teq Online PD. But not to worry, your Teq PD Specialist will take care of this for you, just be sure to send us the roster that matches the email addresses you are using for Clever. And voilà! your teachers can login using their Clever credentials.
If you would like to enable “Clever Secure Sync,” which syncs your teacher roster with your school’s Teq Online PD™ accounts using the OneRoster standard, contact your Teq PD Specialist. Teq can enable this feature on an account by account basis.
How Does ClassLink Work?
Depending on how ClassLink is set up for your school, you can sign in to ClassLink with your school network login, or use an existing account from Google, Microsoft 365, Facebook, or Twitter.
Teq Online PD™ can also sync your school’s teacher roster with ClassLink via the OneRoster standard. So, what does that mean? You no longer have to provide a CSV file of your roster to Teq PD Specialist, you can get rid of the middle man and manage access to Teq Online PD ™ through the ClassLink OneRoster management console. You are in complete control of your roster data, choosing which education application your teachers have access to.
If you are currently a Teq Online PD™ subscriber using Google, ClassLink, or Clever services, and have questions on how to get started, please contact onlinepd@teq.com or read this article for step by step instructions. Stay tuned for more updates! There are exciting things on the horizon for Teq’s award-winning online Professional Development platform.
