Organize Your Life with Trello

For many teachers and professionals, organization is a key aspect to success. Grading papers, lesson planning, personal deadlines—teachers certainly have a lot to manage! Trello can be the solution to assist with keeping any to-do list in order. As a Trello user, I have become dependent on it to keep track of my daily tasks and checklists.
Trello allows users to create boards with organized lists composed of individual task cards. Setting up your board is easy because the layout is created by you! Your board represents a new project that you would like to organize. Lists within that board can be laid out however you deem beneficial. Perhaps they can be created with a weekly outlook, topic headings related to your project, or simple stages of completion (To-Do, Doing, Done). As an example, each of the boards that I create and manage is titled with the week. Then, lists are created within that board for Monday through Friday. Each of the weekdays has individual cards which list all of the tasks I hope to complete for that day.
One of the best things about organizing a Trello board is that it’s so easy to move and manage lists and tasks. Any task card can be moved from one list to another with a simple click and drag. With a few clicks, lists and cards can be moved, copied, or archived any time. It’s also easy to make your cards more descriptive by adding colored labels, checklists, due dates, or attachments from a computer or cloud-based storage system. This helps users keep tasks organized and assists with time management.
Organizing a Trello board can also be collaborative with the ability to add other members to join and edit board content. Keeping track of individual tasks in a group project or sharing ideas and experiences can be fun and easy to manage. Teachers can also keep track of student tasks by having them share their Trello boards for a project plan. The possibilities seem endless!
Whether creating a personal board, or one that will assist with work tasks, I urge you to try Trello. Visit the site to create a free account where you can start organizing your life! Trello also offers an option for a paid version with upgraded features, called Trello Gold. Don’t forget that you can organize everywhere by accessing your Trello board from your mobile device; the Trello app is available on iOS or Android devices. Happy Trello-ing!
